The best day of the week to bet on horse racing
Have you ever wondered if there is a day of the week when it is easier to pick the winners of horse races? Are the races always the same? For example, will it be more difficult to choose the best horse or handicap for racing on Monday than on Saturday?
In my experience, the answer is yes. There are days when the running horses are of a higher class and in better physical condition. This means horses that run properly as opposed to a bottom-of-the-barrel formation that struggles to win due to weakness.
Look at the average portfolio for different days of the week and the entire portfolio for the day and you will find that there is a definite pattern. Race tracks love stakes race cards and the best racing grounds on days when there is a possibility that there will be more people available to race.
It is the same reason why major sporting events such as football matches are held on Saturdays and Sundays. So if you want to handicap the easiest races and horses that run right, stick to the higher money races for older horses.
You will find most of them on the weekend. Saturday is usually the best day for quality racing. There is another reason to play races on weekends or holidays as well. This is when you will find the highest percentage of casual horse players and gamblers.
In cross betting, your skill is important. On weekdays there are more real horse players in proportion to the average players who are not quite as skilled. This means that you are more likely to see each horse bet on its true value or chances of winning.
On the other hand, on a weekend or holiday, there are more people at the races just to have fun. They will bet on the basis of the horse’s name or because it is a big favourite.
